Part 2 Lead Educator (Pickering, ON)
Bridget is Co-Owner and Manager of Foot Care Academy, which is owned and operated by Advanced Foot Care Nurses, Diabetes Educators and Instructors with over 35 combined years of community and hospital care experience.
She assisted Foot Care Kingston with a 'Feet for Life Course' and in 2015 and is currently an Educator for Foot Care Kingston's Foot Care Nurse Course (Part 2-Clinical) in Pickering, offered in partnership with Foot Care Academy. In addition to teaching Foot Care Kingston's course, Bridget has also been teaching other basic, advanced and diabetic nursing foot care courses at Foot Care Academy since 2014.
Bridget is a Registered Practical Nurse with a strong health care and administrative background. Her experience in these areas stems from her work as a visiting nurse in the community, as well as from working in various settings, including hospitals, long and short term rehabilitation services, palliative care and surgical care.
Bridget has a passion for education. During her 25 years of nursing, Bridget has taken various certificate courses including Health Coaching, Advanced and Diabetic Nursing Foot Care, Practice Nurse Educator, Wound Care and Management. She has also completed Practice Nurse Educator courses at York University and is currently enrolled in the Nursing (BScN) program at George Brown College.
Memberships include: College of Nurses of Ontario, Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses, and Canadian Society of Vascular Nursing.
